Patrol / Corrections Opportunities

Background investigations will be conducted on all potential employees. Lateral transfers for Patrol and Corrections may be considered for qualified applicants who possess current POST certifications. Fingerprinting Services

Please contact Loralee Cheney at 775-962-5151 to set up an appointment for processing CCW permits and all other fingerprint services.

Inmate Visitation

No in-person visitation is available. Video visitation can be arranged through NCIC – Inmate Phone, Messaging & Video Visits. Video visit terminals are also available at the Detention Center. No personal items, nor information will be passed on from Detention Center staff to inmates. All materials MUST be sent via mail or provided by legal counsel.

Fraud and Identity Theft

Unfortunately, all of us are increasingly susceptible to identify theft and fraud. With the increasing use and popularity of the internet through web sites and social media, we have become even more vulnerable as these technologies extend deeply into our daily lives – including the lives of children. In recognition of this, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is making an effort to seek out and share information sources to help our citizens learn more about fraud and identify theft and how to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Important Notices

Fireworks: The purchase and use of fireworks is illegal in Lincoln County. Please refer to Section 5, Chapter 1 of the Lincoln County Code for the description of the code and the penalty for breaking it.

Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA)

PREA was created to eliminate sexual abuse in confinement settings. PREA is a federal law to guide correctional institutions about detecting, preventing, reducing, and punishing sexual abuse/misconduct in confinement settings. This law applies to all federal and state prisons, jails, police lock-ups, private facilities, juvenile facilities, and community correctional settings. PREA Information

Nevada VINE System

A service through which victims of crime can use the telephone or internet to search for information regarding the custody status of their offender and to register to receive telephone and e-mail notification when the offender’s custody status changes. The VINE toll-free number for the Nevada VINE system is (888) 268-8463. This service is provided to assist Victims of Crime who have a right to know about their offender’s custody status.
