Assistance is available to all who need it, regardless of age. To qualify for financial assistance, your household income cannot exceed 125% of the Government Poverty Level. These guidelines are provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and depend on the number of persons in the household.
In order to obtain assistance, a form must be completed that documents income for the person requesting assistance.
The application must be filled out completely and signed. The signature serves as certification that the information provided is true and accurate.
Once completed, the application can be mailed or brought directly to the Human Services office.
Human Services OfficeTransportation assistance is provided by the Lincoln County Bus, which runs Monday through Thursday and one Friday per month to Utah.
A mobile food pantry provides free food once a month. This service is available to anyone who needs it.
Signs are posted around the community to alert local citizens when the mobile pantry will be in town.
Food is distributed in the west parking lot of the Caliente Railroad Depot building.
Emergency food assistance is available at any time by contacting the Human Services office.
Commodities is another free food service available to those who need it. This service is offered every month, January through December, on the third Thursday and Friday of the month.
Signs are posted around the community to alert local citizens when commodities will be distributed.
